For Mind & Body
Linden (Tilia platyphylla) is a large deciduous tree native to Europe, with a characteristic pyramid shape, that can grow up to about 100 feet tall or more. From late spring to early summer, linden blooms with an abundance of fragrant white or yellowish-green flowers clustered with leaf-like bracts. It has distinctive, heart-shaped leaves that are pale underneath.
Linden has a delightful fragrance that has long been a staple in soaps, perfumes and body products of all kinds. The leaves and flowers are often used as fragrant and calming bath soak. Linden tea has a long history of use for calming the nervous system and supporting healthy sleep, even in children. It has been used for centuries in European traditions for colds, flu, congestion and fever. Linden has a long-standing reputation as a soothing herb for body, mind and spirit and makes a pleasant, mild tasting tea.
