French Laundry Essential
Guaranteed free of dyes, fragrances and additives, these Marseille soap shavings are recommended for gentle and effective washing of all textiles, in particular delicate linens (baby linens, wool, silk, lace, etc.). They are also biodegradable and phosphate free.
When you make your detergent with these Marseille soap flakes, you may notice a difference in appearance, color or thickness (viscosity) compared to the old formula (with palm oil). This is completely normal, because the oleic sunflower oil which replaces palm oil is a fluid oil (like olive oil), and slightly darker. The quality of the detergent and its washing power are unchanged. It is just as effective and even more environmentally friendly. Over time, if you prepare your laundry in advance, it will thicken. All you have to do is add hot water and shake it to dilute it again.
Since 1900 and four family generations, in Salon-de-Provence, Marius Fabre have perpetuated the traditional production of Marseille soap, cooked in a cauldron. It has now been replaced by oleic sunflower oil, a very special oil with many advantages and in line with the philosophy of the Marius Fabre soap factory: to manufacture natural products, respectful of man and nature.
100% vegetable oils (Oleic sunflower oil, coconut oil)
Soap 30% and more (sodium sunflowerseedate, Sodium cocoate)
Also contains: Aqua, Glycerin, Sodium chloride , Sodium hydroxide.
With this new formula of "palm oil-free" shavings, we advise you to proceed as follows to make your washing powder:
1. Put a small handful or 30g of shavings at the bottom of your can of detergent
2. Pour very hot water over the shavings, to melt them (start with 1/2 litre)
3. Shake well
4. Pour another 1/2 liter of very hot water, to reach 1L of detergent
5. Shake well
6. Your laundry is ready!
A phase shift can occur in the detergent, due to its natural formula. You just need to shake the can vigorously, to mix well again.

Practical tips:
Add a glass of white vinegar to the softener compartment (softens and descales).
To perfume your laundry, add a few drops of essential oils (lavender, tea tree, citrus, etc.). If you want to perfume your laundry with a few drops of essential oils, wait until it has cooled down.
For perfectly white laundry, add a tablespoon of baking soda or a small handful of soda crystals once your laundry is cold.
